Onyx's Experiments
Five strangers wake in candle-lit cells beneath the earth with their memories stripped — no name, no face, no people, only their skills and fragments of history. Beside each is a black ring and an unsigned note: they came here willingly, a series of tests awaits, and the reward for reaching the end is land, title and 50,000 gold per black ring recovered. Some of the others below can be trusted; others will succeed at any cost. The trial is Onyx's, and it exists to test people he has been instrumental in creating.
A memory-wipe gauntlet run beneath the earth by Onyx Longtooth. Each contestant was recruited or tricked into attending and carries a private bargain written on the back of their paper. Two of them — Fuy Gieri and BrenNox — are Onyx's own, tasked with reaching a metal door and whatever lies behind it.
