Summary
Rather than be trapped by the Nardic response at City 2, the party abandons the temple basement and escapes aboard the commercial skyship. Over the Sea of Naa, it turns a military interception into an ambush and begins taking the more useful warship.
Detailed Narrative
The party continues fighting through the City 2 temple, but the strategic picture changes when a large Nardic response force converges on the complex. Rather than turn the raid into a potentially fatal siege, the group abandons the remaining basement objective and teleports back to the captured commercial skyship.
They bluff/confuse the dock authorities long enough to get aboard, then forcibly break the living ship free of its moorings and flee City 2. With the local operation compromised, they decide the time for intermediate raids is over: they will head toward the floating capital.
Over the Sea of Naa, a Nardic military skyship intercepts the commercial vessel. The party realizes that a military craft is exactly what they need to approach the capital and converts the interception into an ambush.
They rig the old commercial ship with their remaining explosives and prepare to sacrifice it. While Nardic soldiers begin boarding, the party uses invisibility and surprise to undermine the attackers—most memorably, Baby steals weapons from soldiers before the fight fully begins. The boarding squad is destroyed with minimal party injury.
The session ends with the party transferring the fight onto/into the military skyship. The old commercial vessel is effectively expendable; the military ship, if captured intact, can solve the capital-access problem.
