A River Lord power centered on the city of Northfork, ruled by Caivil Strong. Long feuding with the Redshields, the Freeriver house was drawn into the orbit of the rising Trayalon realm — Northfork was eventually governed for the Gallunds by Tray's brother Marcus. The house was devastated by the Honor Day attacks (secretly orchestrated by Tray), which killed Caivil's daughters.

One of the River Lord houses, named alongside Redshields and Swiftwater; assessed in the founding era as a potential ally with a reasonable liaison, neutral. Caivil Strong's daughters Tabetha and Guinevere were killed in the Honor Day attacks; their fiances were the champions Trevor Lightfist and Michael the Hammer. Caivil's vengeance hunt for Ash ultimately exposes Tray's secret war and makes Caivil the frame for Tray's assassination. Northfork is the easternmost reach of the early realm, near Cliffhaven and the obsidian shelf.
