Hesh High Noble and god of Oath, Duty, Vows and Binding Pacts. His oaths were the common currency of kings, knights and shield-kin across the old kingdoms, sworn alike by humans, dwarves and elves. His presence was felt as the weight of a vow: his oath-chains bind not to restrain but to endure, glowing when an oath is sworn and blazing when one is broken. He did not survive Terek's Folly, yet his name endures in every oath spoken and every bond kept β in the age of Trayalon many still swear by him, some truly and some deceived. 'By my word. By my bond. By oath unbroken.'

Record Notes
About this record: art and source provenance, discrepanciesEncountered in the City of Lights vision (ch-09), a temporal pocket realm of the Hesh past. Hesh High Noble and god-figure. Galbrand Landus of the Founding of Trayalon campaign unknowingly believed he served Helmar while actually serving Onyx Longtooth. Updates 2026-08-02 (portrait research). Appearance, domains, doctrine and symbol all taken from the character study sheet at images/gods/studies/helmar.png, which is authorial and far richer than this record was: it gives his full domain list (Oath, Duty, Vows, Binding Pacts), his creed ('By my word. By my bond. By oath unbroken.' / 'The word is steel. The oath is life. The duty is eternal.'), the Oath Aura mechanic, and the meaning of his mark. The deception thread is corroborated by the sheet itself, which says that in the age of Trayalon many still swear in his name, 'some truly, and some deceived' β precisely the Galbrand Landus / Onyx Longtooth situation recorded above. His Maker's Mark is a live world mechanic, not just an emblem: it appears on Hesh rune-crystal artifacts (see item/helmar-teleport-rod.json, whose command word is 'Nyx'), and faction/blazing-hood-dwarves.json holds deep knowledge of 'Helmar's Maker's Marks' and distributes Helmar-marked artifacts. The 'MM_' prefix on images/multiple_campaigns/MM_Helmar.png and MM_Rayne.png stands for Maker's Mark. The Oathkeeper β 'a sword granted to Helmar at his ascension; its runes record the vows of countless warriors' β has no item entity yet. Recorded in avatarDescription instead. Worth creating; note item/scepter-of-unbroken-oaths.json exists and may or may not be related. The grid Description and Favored Weapon columns are both blank for Helmar, and there is no PilotStar/Gods/ file for him at all β the study sheet is the only appearance source. ART β the site currently serves the entire multi-panel study SHEET as his deity image (web/public/images/entities/deity/helmar.webp, from images/gods/studies/helmar.png). At card size it is unreadable and needs replacing with a single-figure portrait via images/gods/cards/helmar-the-mighty.png. ART WARNING β images/multiple_campaigns/helmarTheMighty.jpg appears to be third-party stock or game promotional art (white-haired knight, red cape, ornate greatsword, sunset battlefield). It contradicts the study sheet design and should not be used. It is NOT currently published, since multiple_campaigns is absent from the CAMPAIGN_FOLDERS map in optimize-images.mjs and its cards/ subfolder is empty. MISFILED ART β images/helmarsPlane.jpg and images/portalToHelmarsPlane.jpg sit in the flat image root, so processEntityImages guessed their type from the filename and published them as web/public/images/entities/character/helmarsplane.webp and portaltohelmarsplane.webp. They are location art, not characters; the type-guess regex has no 'plane' keyword. Recommend moving them under a location folder or renaming.
