Madame Flicket

antagonistcrimelordconspiratorfounding-of-trayalon-gallund-river-empirepostassassinationHalflingSpymasterDoubleAgentAssassin

A charming halfling woman who runs the Golden Ladle Inn in Riverguard and presents as a giddy, flirty young lady. Behind that front she is Gregor's silent business partner and a coldly opportunistic operator who controls people through leverage and money rather than loyalty, and who intends to run the underground across all the Redshield territories. She is now operating from Trayalon.

Campaign Notes

DM only β€” campaign-sensitive material

CANON β€” TRAY'S ASSASSINATION AND THE REVEAL: Madame Flicket assassinates Tray Gallund during the ch-12 wedding celebration (Admond Gallund's marriage to Caitlyn Fairbreeze) and frames Caivil Strong, who is then killed in custody. THE TWIST: the post-assassination investigation in the following chapter reveals that Flicket and Seamus Adair were secretly working with and for Tray Gallund all along β€” a hidden spymaster network exposed only after his death. This supersedes the earlier note that the assassin's identity was an unresolved dangling thread. She is a concealed spymaster who kept that covert working relationship with Tray unsuspected until after his death, and she treats the assassination as an opportunity to seize council seats. She attempts to proposition Solomon into betraying Admond and Duncan in ch-12; the offer to betray companions is made to party members. She eventually intends to move into Seamus's territory.

Record Notes

About this record: art and source provenance, discrepancies

PROPAGATION TODO: the Flicket/Seamus reveal is not yet written into the campaign or chapter source β€” propagate it to the ch-12 seccession chapter and to worldBooks/founding-of-trayalon-gallund-river-empire/npcs.md when developing the succession aftermath. RACE CORRECTED: previously recorded as Human; the ch-10 source explicitly describes her as 'a charming halfling woman.'
