To the west of Bosh Arla, along the Northern Divide river, is a forest that follows the water down from Serpent's Lake to the Sea of Tears. Near the coast there is a large grove of trees grown in where the village of Fairbreeze once stood. After the fort there was destroyed, no one would dare venture near it. Some say it was cursed, others haunted. What is known is that the spot is home to the darkest part of the forest, with tall trees towering high enough to block out the sun and undergrowth threatening to trip up and tangle any would-be passer-by. The place is ominously quiet, almost as if even the animals of the forest also know to stay away. The site of the former village and its surrounding forest have grown into mystery and legend, and the place is now only called the Sorrowglades. When Peter Gallund razed Fairbreeze in h-150, in response to the village defying his desire to take Vivian Fairbreeze as terms of assimilation, he left Vivian's husband Karl Hench for dead alongside the burning saw mill. What Peter failed to take into account was Karl's two brothers, Stefon and Brace. Karl survived the attack, and when Stefon and Brace learned of Vivian's death they returned to Fairbreeze and committed themselves to all-out war against the GRE, and against Peter Gallund specifically. Over the next eight years the brothers burned, stole, killed, and destroyed everything in their path associated with the GRE, allying themselves with rival river lords when convenient and recruiting anyone who would fight with them, using the former saw mill as their base of operations. Their cause became known as the Hench rebellion and became something of a rallying cry among other provinces that wanted to resist the GRE. The rebellion became such an issue that eventually Tomas Casius, leader of the mage's guild and the Casius family, was forced to assemble a team and attack the Hench encampment directly. The battle was fierce, but all the resistance was slaughtered by the combined magical and martial forces of the Casius and Gallund families. It culminated when Brace, the last surviving Hench brother, barricaded himself and the remaining survivors into the compound that was once the Fairbreeze saw mill; Tomas used his magical might to incinerate the entire structure, killing everyone inside and leaving only charred ruins.
