The nation southwest of the Gallund River Empire, effectively a vassal state of it, governed by a strange mix of oligarchy, plutocracy and aristocracy with a federal organisation, strong bureaucracy and overtones of theocracy. Mostly open steppe, prairie, dense forest and swamp, essentially indefensible apart from its many rivers — hence its reliance on a strong GRE guarding the northern and eastern flanks. Nearly devoid of heavy industry; forestry (including rare Iron Wood) and agriculture dominate, and its grain earns it the nickname 'The Breadbasket of Trayalon'. Also known for fruit, cattle, and the long-haired White Cassington sheep whose wool is almost as fine as silk. The far west is fetid, largely impassable swamp holding goblin tribes, covens of green hags and swamp trolls; beyond it lies the Open Hand, reachable only by sea.
