The police of Greyrock, paid for by taxes collected by the dwarven leaders. They enforce the laws and keep the peace — when not taking bribes, abusing authority or slacking off. Most citizens consider them some mix of joke and the face of corruption, calling them 'Lackeeps' for being lackeys of corrupt officials, the Syndicate, or both. The Clanhold government of the Deep Below considers the Outside government's corruption a disgrace and is seeking to correct its aberrant cousins by any means necessary. Leadership favours nationhood as a route to greater power.
