Pre-Folly. Craynoth is arrested at his stronghold in New Resish by a party led by Roy Tretcord and Senious Galland at Terek's personal request, each wearing an amulet Terek crafted against Craynoth's magic. He is tried on the terrace called the Circle of Law before Terek and the leaders of the Hesh for continuing forbidden research into binding space and power — work barred by pact with the elves and the Blazing Hood dwarves. Found guilty by Onyx, Rayne, Jouren, Helmar and Salena, against Saldaman, Rysen, Nyx and Sorin, he is taken through a gate to Vadesh — the site that later becomes Trayalon — and sealed into the cliff prison by Terek, becoming the first prisoner of the Warden's Prison.
