A farmer named Totnum — a former GRE soldier with some skill as a druid — led a successful revolt against the GRE's growing power over Red Shield. The GRE was waging an unpopular expansionist war into Open Hand territory while confiscating farms, conscripting young men and levying exorbitant taxes, and resentment ran hottest in the western counties, whose farmers knew and respected the giants of Open Hand. Totnum gathered other Agrarians with druidic skill and pushed the GRE out with little help from the other factions or Riverguard.
