Jack Bernhart

bernhartbanditenforcersouthwayswizard-warcrime-familymanorheraldry

A lean, hard-built man in his thirties who co-led the Bernhart family's criminal operation in the Southways from Bernhart Manor alongside his sister Gina β€” the fist to her velvet glove, aggressive and forward, all demands and threats. He wore his trade as conspicuously as his rank, in a long black leather coat worked with fine gold scrollwork, and carried the Bernhart mark β€” a letter B on a shield β€” on his signet ring and on the medallion at his throat. He died in the fight at the manor after a negotiated agreement collapsed.

Physical DescriptionA lean, hard-built human man in his thirties with messy black hair falling over his brow, dark eyes under heavy brows, sharp features, pale skin and a few days of stubble. His expression is cold and unimpressed by default β€” the look of a man who has already decided how a conversation ends. He wears a long black leather coat with a high standing collar, worked with fine gold scrollwork at the lapels and cuffs and a large ornate device across the upper back, over a dark buttoned waistcoat with gold buttons left open at the throat. Wide brown leather belts with heavy buckles cross his waist, leather cuffs wrap both wrists, and he wears dark trousers and tall black boots. Several gold rings sit on his fingers, and a small dark medallion hangs on a chain at his throat. The Bernhart family mark β€” a letter B on a shield β€” is his heraldry: it appears on his signet ring, on the medallion at his neck. He carries a bastard sword with a gold crossguard and pommel over a wrapped grip, and a dagger. He is of ordinary human height and build.

Record Notes

About this record: art and source provenance, discrepancies

Appearance of record: images/0335-wizard-war/studies/jack_bernhart.png; physicalDescription was added from it 2026-08-04. The study sheet's scale panel shows him level with an average man. The Bernhart mark also appears on a banner hung in the manor hall, which is a location detail rather than part of his appearance. NO PORTRAIT IS WIRED UP β€” jackBernhart.png is published only in the campaign folder, which is outside the entity portrait resolution path; the studies subfolder is also not processed. A canonical portrait card is still needed. CROGER BERNHART HAS NO ENTITY β€” images/0335-wizard-war/crogerBernhart.png exists, but there is no character record for him. SPELLING β€” the h-335 adventure folder and chapter id use 'Berhart', while character, location, and art names use 'Bernhart'. firstAppearance retains the resolving chapter id.
