MERGED 2026-08-03 from `141-macklot` and `141-macklot`, two records for the same entity. Both have been deleted and their references repointed here. Main antagonist of Kingdoms and Clouds, which takes the second half of its title from him — *Kingdoms and Clouds (Lightwatch and Macklot)*. He rules almost all Arla tribe lands as leader of the Darkmoon Tribe and has absorbed the memories of many Arla elders, though the elders resist sharing reincarnation knowledge with him. He plans to reincarnate into Peter Gallund or Steve using an evil-bonded artifact. Defeated at Darkwillow by Peter Gallund's demonic sword; his soul is absorbed into Peter, and whether Peter or Macklot is truly in control afterward is deliberately ambiguous. He appears earlier in Path to Arla as a 'shadowy merchant figure', working through the Dark Moon Tribe alongside Grimtold, courting the party's favour while acquiring knowledge for himself. He introduces himself simply as Macklot and reveals he is who the party has really been dealing with all along, offering what he calls The Gift. Historically, Peter and the knights of the GRE marched off to defeat Macklot and the armies of Arla; the tribes of Arla have since stabilised and returned mostly to what they were before him. STATUS — 'defeated' is kept from the fuller record (deathYear_h 153, absorbed into Peter Gallund). The other record read 'active', which described his earlier Path to Arla period rather than his end state. Lineage of records: `141-macklot` was itself created 2026-08-02 from the junk plural stub `macklots`, and references to `141-macklot` were repointed into it at that time.
