Summary
The parasitic Nardic Queen reveals that Lady Estera is dead, but the party destroys the Queen and rescues Medina from the capital. Jennifer is revealed as Lady Louisa Tatarmoff, the regime collapses into chaos, and Reginald prepares the bridge for evacuation.
Detailed Narrative
Guided by Reginald, the party enters the royal complex and reaches the Nardic Queen's throne-room area. The Queen confronts them through a grotesque parasitic system of hosts/“brain bugs.”
The central personal revelation is devastating: Lady Estera is dead. The Queen states that she found/consumed/absorbed Estera and has incorporated much of her. The host body initially seen on the throne is therefore not a rescuable Estera in the normal sense.
A prolonged battle follows against the Queen, host bodies, parasitic brain creatures, guards, and compromised allies. The Queen can abandon a dying host and attach to another, extending the fight. Trevor is at one point brought to or past death and restored during the battle, prompting an unusually intense emotional reaction from Jennifer.
During the fight the transcript abruptly changes Jennifer's name to “Louisa, formerly Jennifer.” From this point forward she is consistently treated as Lady Louisa, Trevor and Gaby's long-missing mother. The exact disguise/reveal mechanism is clipped out of the surviving transcription, but the identity is clear and remains canon in the finale.
The party eventually kills the Queen/parasite and its remaining controlled forces. They push into the prison/holding areas and find Medina alive. She recognizes Trevor and Gaby and is overjoyed to see them. Estera, however, cannot be recovered.
The fall of the Queen triggers social collapse in the capital: riots, panic, and violence spread as Nardic command structures fail. The party and resistance allies spend substantial time moving prisoners and survivors to safety.
They also seize the royal treasury, bringing their already enormous wealth into the millions. Reginald helps prepare the bridge operation and evacuation. The party now has what it came for—Medina, surviving captives, and the means to go home—while the Nardic regime is effectively decapitated.
