Detailed NarrativeJael Gardin, an elder among the followers of Rysen, holds that though Rysen is dead his purposes stand: stop the spread of ancient Hesh knowledge and prevent another calamity. He has tasked an agent with infiltrating the party — partly to help defeat Pavik, partly because he suspects the elders have imprinted their consciousness on the party and wants to know who carries what.
The route south runs ~140 miles along the river and through Grey Bear country, the most direct path to the cache. Olek will hand the book to Dark Moon and travel as guide. Gemma, the half-goblin the party saved, is at Olek's tribe; Olek hid her at first, and gave up once the party proved they had survived the prison.
Harbrite asks to return to his people: 'without Storm Cloud they will be lost... as the last Elder alive from the tribe they will need my guidance.' If Harbrite returns to Grey Bear, Rhett likely lives; otherwise he likely dies.
Spirit Shade takes the satchels and answers honestly when asked — documents collected by Tekclif, gathered on instruction for the individual she serves: everything Tekclif holds on Pavik Shim.
