Detailed NarrativeThe party awakens disoriented before a steel-bound door: Craynoth's lab inside his stronghold at New Resish, escorted by soldiers bearing Terek's maker's mark and wearing amulets Terek crafted to shield them from Craynoth's strongest magic. Artemon inhabits Roy Tretcord, Harfur becomes Bramus Cinderforce, Finn becomes Senious Galland, and Maddie takes the part of Liekstride as an elven elder.
Craynoth argues he is only continuing research done with Terek's blessing: 'Imagine what would be possible if we were able to bind space and power not just to serve as prison, but as entirely new worlds.' — 'I don't wish to destroy you if I don't have to.'
The trial convenes on a terrace called the Circle of Law before Terek and the leaders of the Hesh — Saldaman, Rysen, Nyx, Sorin, Helmar, Jouren, Salena, Rayne, Onyx. Terek: 'This project was undertaken in agreement with the elves and Blazing Hood dwarves under the strict pact that further research and experimentation in this area would be forbidden.' Craynoth: 'The prisons exist outside space and time itself and are powered using the world's own energy... No more wars over land or resources, no more sickness, even eternal life.'
Guilty: Onyx, Rayne, Jouren, Helmar, Salena. Innocent: Saldaman, Rysen, Nyx, Sorin. A Perception DC 15 spots the Tretcord and Gallund crests interlocked in the Circle's engraving — Terek asked Roy and Senious directly to make the arrest.
'I made the prisons, you know they will not hold me forever. Know this. I will remember those responsible for this treachery.' — the seed of the doomguards.
From the City of Lights a gate carries them to Vadesh, which the party recognises as the same site as Trayalon, its lower terrace drowned in the present day. Terek seals Craynoth into the cliff prison, making him the first prisoner of the Warden's Prison. 'I am sorry my friend, but the power you seek threatens us all.' — 'When I return, I will have my vengeance on you all.' The world swirls in light blue power and the party returns, each a level higher.
