Detailed Narrative
Huntsman Seth reports spotting Macklot with a large force heading for Darkwillow. The party rides out; as they approach, temperatures drop precipitously even in mid-spring. By arrival, several feet of snow have accumulated. A Winterwight on the outskirts freezes and kills townsfolk from cold exposure. The frozen town has been turned into an undead factory; the dead inhabitants have risen. The party battles through surreal winter terrain (Will DC 25 vs. illusion, Will DC 25 vs. Weird with personal visions for each member). Peter arrives with his army in a rage β his mother and sister were killed by a Phasmadaemon sent by Macklot. Peter charges directly into battle. In the final confrontation, Macklot and Peter fight; Peter severs Macklot with a powerful overhead blow from his demonic sword. Macklot's soul traverses the blade into Peter (Spellcraft DC 20 to see the absorption, DC 40 to see Peter's full possession, DC 60 to see them vying for control β outcome ambiguous). The Weird visions for each party member: Ren sees the cursed child; Barton sees Evil Udin; Steve sees dying Duncan; Courtland sees Pendragon; Ja'ayne sees Rayne saying 'your task is done now, I only regret that you failed so many.' Aftermath: Peter marches north and routes the Darkmoon Tribe to New Resish; the remaining resistance surrenders. Finnora and Rhett establish the Alliance of Arla with 12 tribes again represented; they partner with the GRE. Lightwatch becomes a premier trading harbor. Peter grieves his losses and reforms the GRE into a Guild system with diverse representation β he invites the party (Ja'ayne, Steve, Ren, Barton, Courtland) to form their own guild alongside Cassius, Landus, Fearwald, Adair, Kessel, Pendragon, and Swiftwater families. Three years later, Yolich re-emerges working with the Hench brothers attacking GRE nobles. Resbic Cassius (now powerful in Brightport) tracks them to the hidden Hench sawmill. Peter watches as Resbic fireballs the mill β the exact vision Ja'ayne saw in ch-02. The Hench brothers' fate is sealed. Yolich and the Hench brothers' final fates remain ambiguous.

Campaign Notes
DM only β campaign-sensitive materialWhether Macklot or Peter is truly in control after the battle is deliberately ambiguous (Spellcraft DC 60 required to see them vying). Yolich's 'ever-descending madness' is likely tied to the forges (Will save DC 25 to avoid insanity when using them). Gerald Brightspring (the Lifebringer) helps with the battle recovery. Three-years-later epilogue is the fulfillment of Ja'ayne's very first vision from ch-02.
