Kingdoms and Clouds - Ch 14: Foreign Shores

The voyage from Lightwatch to New Resish aboard the Black Mist is dangerous — worse autumn weather makes travel harder, and on the second day a juvenile red dragon ambushes the ship. Bellbutter, using magic, discovers the rings of protection given by Marshal Adair have GRE tracking magic in them. The party escapes to Brightport. At the Seaward Inn, Jack the Gobo (from the path-to-arla campaign) briefs the party: Brightport is free but under economic siege by Darkmoon. After killing elder Oona months ago, Darkmoon forces are systematically cutting down and burning Deepwood forest and harvesting fey body parts for magical components. Half-fey princess Finnora (daughter of Oona, possibly imbued with elder memories) is being protected at the Brightborn temple by Keeper Lane. Macklot has sent a Retriever (powerful construct) to capture or kill Finnora. Only 2 Brightborn remain globally; Keeper Lane is the only one at the sanctuary. Cortland Resta (Dragon Knight) is here fighting Darkmoon, having learned of Arla's plight and GRE inaction. Mayor Devon Smallwood has gone to New Resish to meet Macklot and may not return. Macklot is working with the Raven Wing Tribe for legal justification to consolidate power.
