Summary
Samantha reveals the missing forge activation piece can be found in the ruins of the Hesh city of Loresh near Cliffhaven. Marshal Adair offers to reveal the location of the Blazing Hood prison Kar Kolis in exchange for the party's support against Darkmoon and the Hench brothers. The party plans a voyage to Loresh while navigating the political pressure from both the GRE and Darkmoon. Eastguard ruins are held by Darkmoon forces with two-headed trolls attacking the remnants.
Detailed Narrative
Samantha arrives at Lightwatch and tells the group the missing piece for the forge activation is an ancient 'battery' β probably findable in the recently uncovered ruins of the Hesh city of Loresh, inside the obsidian cliffs near Cliffhaven. She will lend the medallions for passage and knows Captain Kate can smuggle them in. Samantha is also looking for Karl's lost medallion (taken during the fall of Fairbreeze). She acknowledges the Cards are effectively defunct; only the Hench brothers' vendetta war against the Gallunds and Yolich's plot remain. She fears Yolich and her 'master' (implied) must be stopped before everyone dies. Marshal Adair visits and intimates he knows the party altered the treaty (amuses him). He offers to give the location of Kar Kolis prison in exchange for cooperation against Darkmoon and stopping the rogue Hench brothers. He also proposes financing a second Bourdain expedition in exchange for forge knowledge. He seems unaware of the Loresh plans. The Eastguard ruins are in shambles; Darkmoon forces under summoner Glassic have fortified them. Two-headed trolls attack the ruins, which the party can intercede with or not.
